A tragic story of Wladyslaw Szpilman, a fine gentleman, who is also a Polish-Jewish pianist in Warsaw. The tragedies happen to his family and all Jewish people started when the Nazi Germany declared war in Poland. It does not ended that quickly the war. The people in Warsaw have to suffered first for a very long time.
This story depicts the life of the Jews, where their rights being taken a little by little. Not just being limited to certain areas, their money have to be limited too and eventually they were being driven out from their communities and placed at the ghetto. Wladyslaw experienced the most cruel, crazy and insane actions that the Nazis shown towards the Jews. They've been killed inhumanly, tortured and so many things have been done to them.

He was left behind after his family been resettled at the "melting pot". This is where he tries to survive and do anything just to live. One by one, his acquaintance being killed or hiding in a far country. He suffered so many things and experience a very bad health condition.
Despite the terrible situation his in, he stills have the love for music. He continues to hear the sounds of a music pieces playing inside his head. He did not lose his ability to play music. This leads to the discovery of the captain in one of Nazis army. However, Wladyslaw survived as the captain was moved by his piano musics and spare him. The musics does not stop them until that time but continues as friendship began to take place.

Even in a mess, the two oddness was able to befriend and however, this shows that not every Nazis was determined to kill the Jews. For this movie, it is not a good communication that makes them friends, but a good soul of music that bond them together. Although, one could not survive in a war, the friendship that happened is still within them. Musics was never meant to be a language, but a melody that keep everyone in pace.
